With reference to your letter of the 6th November (62861/1919) transmitting a copy of a telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong with regard

to the enemy -owned shares in the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation, I am directed by the Board of

Trade to forward for the information of Viscount

Milner a copy of a list of enemy shareholders in

that Corporation which has been supplied by the Cor-

poration,

It is not clear from the Governor's tele-

gram whether he desires the shares to be vested in

the Custodian at Hong Kong or in the Public Trustee,

but I am to suggest for the consideration of Viscount

Milner that these shares would come within the charge

set out in paragraph 1 (xvi) of the Order in Council
